Question the Conventional

Two random thoughts

1.   Every second of every day we are dying cell by cell.   As we creep along the path of life we are dying a little bit with every step.   Make the most of what you have and strive to better yourself both physically and mentally.   Live on.

2.   People need to stop being such sallies when it comes to their lower backs.   I can’t bend down to tie my shoe today.   I DL’ed for the first time in about 6 weeks.   I am oh so sore.   OH so sore. SORE, not injured.   People need to understand that just because their lower back is sore does not mean they need to go to the freaking doctors and get loaded up on muscle relaxers and perc’s.   Your lower back is a static muscle.    It’s main job is to work constantly at low levels to hold us upright.   You don’t have a herniation, you’re just very sore because you’re weak and out of shape.   When you make your spinal erectors and accompanying musculature (i.e. “lower back”) do more than it’s used to, it will become sore.   If you strengthen it, you will be sore less in your lower back.   Fellas, stop doing your shoulder raises and do some back extensions, or better yet Good Mornings.   Ladies, get off the bosu ball (It makes you look like a circus critter anyway. Every time I see someone on one of those things I want to grab a whip and a chair and start yelling “up Simba, UP!”) and start doing some back extensions, maybe some deadlifts (the right way…with heavy weight…maybe even get an ass eventually…just throwing it out there).

My 2 cents for the week.
